HONG Kong's Seaspan Corporation, a unit of Hong Kong's New York listed Atlas Corp, has announced it has taken delivery of two 13,000-TEU ships built in 2010 and 2011.

Both vessels have commenced long-term time charters with a leading global liner. The acquisitions were previously announced in July 2020.
"Despite the pandemic, we have now completed the acquisition of 13 high-quality vessels since December of 2019," said Seaspan chairman, president and CEO Bing Chen.
"We are excited about the opportunities ahead, and remain focused on continuing to expand the scope of our businesses while leveraging operational excellence and a strong liquidity position," he said.
Atlas is a leading global asset management company, targeting on long-term, risk adjusted returns across high-quality infrastructure assets in the maritime, energy sectors and other infrastructure verticals.
Seaspan is the owner of 125 containerships, representing 1,049,000 TEU chartering on long-term, fixed-rate, time charters to the world's largest container shipping liners. Seaspan's fleet has an average age of seven years and remaining lease period of four years.
