Shanghai-based SAIC Motor launched its first European shipping service with its largest pure car, truck carrier (PCTC).
The vessel SAIC Anji Phoenix, is the largest PCTC that SAIC Motor owned and is operated by the company’s subsidiary Anji Logistics. The ship is able to carry up to 4,300 units equivalent of automobiles and has 10% fuel consumption lower compared to most ships of its type.
The maiden voyage of the vessel will carry nearly 1,800 MG new energy electric automobiles to Europe.

With the introduction of this new service, SAIC Motor currently has four international roro shipping routes to Southeast Asia, Mexico, South America and Europe.
During the first months of this year, SAIC Motor sold 221,000 automobiles in the international market and ranks number one domestically. The company is accelerating its development in European market, aiming to send 100,000 units of automobile to Europe by 2025.
