DUBAI's global terminal operator DP World has posted a 0.2 per cent year-on-year increase in portfolio-wide container traffic growth to 71.2 million TEU.

Fourth quarter volume was up 7.6 per cent growth in the fourth quarter of the year to 19.1 million TEU, as global economies started to recover, reported Dubai's Maritime Standard.
The company cited strong performances in the fourth quarter at Mundra, London Gateway, Rotterdam, Antwerp Gateway and Sokhna. Its UAE flagship terminal in Jebel Ali handled 3.4 million TEU in the final three months of the year, up 0.3 per cent.
"The growth in volumes was encouraging across all our regions, with India being a key driver, while Jebel Ali saw volumes stabilising," said DP World chairman Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem.
"Looking ahead, while 2021 has started encouragingly, the outlook remains uncertain given continuing issues surrounding the pandemic, geopolitical uncertainty in some parts of the world and the ongoing trade war," he said.
