Private Chinese shipbuilder, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, says that it has inked 60 eshipbuilding contracts year-to-date with a combined value of $3.04bn.

The company recently entered into the shipbuilding contracts for another 31 vessels following the batch contracts announced on 8 February this year, with a surge in contracts for containerships.
All the 31 vessels, totaling in $1.74bn in value, include four 15,000 teu containerships, five 12,200 teu containerships, four 11,800 teu containerships, four 2,600 teu container ships, four 1,800 teu containerships and ten 82,300 dwt bulk carriers.

The vessels are scheduled for delivery during 2022 and 2023.
Earlier this year, Yangzijiang had already secured 29 vessel contracts with a total value of $1.3bn, which could keep the yard busy for at least two years.
