YANGZHIJIANG Shipbuilding announced an order for 12 vessels with a total contract value of US$1.08 billion, reports Singapore's Business Times.
The group has also signed a letter of intent (LOI) for five dual-fuel 7,000-TEU containerships. This will further bring the total contract value to $1.58 billion.
Under the agreements for 12 vessels, the group is expected to build and deliver 10 units of dual-fuel 7,000-TEU ships and two units of 50,000 deadweight tonnage medium-range tankers.
The orders for the 15 units of dual-fuel 7,000-TEUers were placed by repeat customer Seaspan Corp, and will be delivered between 2023 and 2024.
