DACHAN Bay Terminals welcomed a new transpacific service Puma of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) and the fully loaded vessel departed October 17, according to a statement from Hong Kong's Modern Terminals, which is a majority shareholder of the facility.
The new weekly Puma service connects South China with Long Beach, in response to the continued strong transpacific market demand and to further support the challenging service schedules for North America West Coast.
DaChan Bay Terminals managing director Brian Yeung said: "We are proud to work with MSC on this service which is recognition of our quality services. Puma could offer customers quick transit time to and from the US West Coast. We will work together to provide quality services for customers as always."
Six container vessels each of a capacity of 4,100 TEU are deployed in the Puma service. The service calls DaChan Bay Terminals every Sunday with a port rotation of DaChan Bay, Shekou, Long Beach and returning to DaChan Bay.
