CHINESE container carrier China United Lines (CULines) is to launch a direct service connecting China with the Port of Tilbury in the UK, reports Colchester's Seatrade Maritime News.

The express service is expected to debut from Shanghai on October 26, calling at Ningbo and Yantian, then heading to Tilbury directly, which will become the only direct service from China to Tilbury.
Deploying the 2010-built 1,740 TEU containership A Daisen, this direct service to Tilbury will have a transit of 27-30 days from China to Tilbury featuring advantages of fast transportation and on-time delivery.
With UK's largest container port Felixstowe currently experiencing serious congestion with significant berthing delays, this service is aimed to provide more logistics solutions for e-commerce clients.
According to London Container Terminal's website it would be first service to connect it to the East Asian region. It currently has services that call from the Indian sub-continent and Australasia/New Zealand.
