DREWRY's composite World Container Index remained relatively stable, slipping 0.4 per cent last week, but more substantially, falling 79 per cent year on year.
The latest Drewry WCI composite index of US$1,710 per FEU is now 84 per cent below the peak of $10,377 reached in September 2021.
It is 36 per cent lower than the 10-year average of $2,689, indicating a return to more normal prices, but remains 20 per cent higher than average 2019 (pre-pandemic) rates of $1,420.
The average composite index for the year-to-date is $1,923 per FEU, which is $767 lower than the 10-year average of $2,689.
