FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM has introduced call changes to its West Africa Express (WAX) service, which operates on the Asia-West Africa trade.
Since the beginning of October, the shipping carrier added a direct weekly and fixed-day port at a Kribi, Cameroon to the port coverage, with transit times to Kribi from Shanghai of 33 days, Ningbo 32 days and Nansha 28 days.
The updated WAX service rotation is Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Nansha, Tanjung Pelepas, Singapore, Kribi, Cotonou, Abidjan, Tin Can Lagos, Lome, Colombo, Singapore and back to Shanghai.
Multimodal solutions are offered to shippers in Douala with door-to-ramp movements (loading from the customer's dock to the destination intermodal ramp closest to the receiver or consignee), North Cameroon, Chad and Central African Republic, according to the CMA AGM announcement.
The first vessel which sailed on the upgraded schedule was the 4,250 TEU box ship Navios Nerine starting its rotation from the port of Shanghai on October 2, reports UK's Container News.
