KOREA Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE), a shipbuilding arm of Hyundai Heavy Industries Group, has won 10 ships worth US$1.06 billion, reports Business Korea.
The 10 ships are three liquefied natural gas (LNG) ships worth $540 million, four 13,200 TEU containerships, two 40,000 cubic metre LPG carriers, and one 17,000-ton petroleum carrier.
The four containerships will be 335 metres long, 51 metres wide, and 27.3 metres tall. Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries will build them and deliver them one by one0.
The three LPG ships are 180 metres long, 28.7 metres wide, and 18.7 metres tall. Hyundai Mipo Dockyard will build and will deliver them. The small PC will also be provided during the first half of 2022.
Meanwhile, Samsung Heavy Industries also won two LNG carriers worth $367 million from an Oceania shipping company. The ships will be delivered by February 2024.
