SITC orders up to ten boxships at Dae Sun Shipbuilding & Engineering

Chinese ship owner SITC International Holdings Company (SITC) has ordered eight plus two boxships from South Korea’s Dae Sun Shipbuilding & Engineering.

The order consists of eight firm vessels, totaling in $153.6m, and options for two additional vessels.
The eight 1,023teu containerships are scheduled for delivery before the end of 2023, while the options are exercisable on or before 18 June 2021.

As one of the leading shipping logistics companies in Asia, the new construction will enable the company to expand its self-owned fleet of container vessels to meet the increasing demand for the company’s services, said SITC.
