Maersk takes bidders for its reefer biz into new bidding round

CHINA International Marine Containers (CIMC) and Midea Group are potential buyers who have since entered new round of bidding to purchase AP Moller-Maersk's reefer container business, reports the UK's TowerXchange.

Also proceeding into the second round, US air conditioning giant Carrier Global and transport temp-control manufacturer Thermo King are also in the second round.
Japan's Daikin Industries and buyout firm Triton were invited to submit offers as well, one sources said.Maersk plans to collect binding bids by late July, according to sources, who asked not to be identified as the information is private. Deliberations are ongoing and the companies could decide against making any offers, they said.
Valued at as much as US$1 billion, MCI has 2,200 employees and a network of more than 400 service providers, according to its website. The company is headquartered in Denmark and has its production facilities in China.
