THE total container throughput of all the Russian seaports in October 2021 remained increased 0.2 per cent year on year, according to St Petersburg's SeaNews.
Exports were down 0.9 per cent as imports fell 1.1 per cent with laden box throughput rising 0.1 per cent.
Reefer containers accounted for 11.2 per cent of the total laden volume, and dry containers for 88.8 per cent. Imports stood at 51.5 per cent of laden containers while exports came in at 33.6 per cent. Empties traffic declined 0.7 per cent.
The Baltic basin accounted for 46.1 per cent of the aggregate container throughput via the Russian seaports in October. The Far East basin handled 37.5 per cent, the Azov and Black Sea basin accounted for 13 per cent, the Arctic basin for 3.4 per cent and the Caspian basin for 0.04 per cent of the total.
