Asian box lines launch Asia – West South America service

 Pacific International Lines (PIL), Wan Hai Lines, and Yang Ming Lines, are launching a new service between Asia and West Coast South America.

The new weekly service will link China and Korea with Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia and Chile.
Dubbed the West Coast South America 6 (WS6) by PIL the first sailing of the new service is from Ningbo, China on 13 July.

The three lines will deploy 10 vessels on the service with an average capacity of 3,300 teu.
Tonnie Lim, Chief Trade Officer, PIL, said, “We are launching this new WS6 service to broaden PIL’s presence in West Coast South America, and capitalise on the growth potential of the Latin American region.  This is also part of PIL’s efforts to meet the needs of its customers worldwide for a more comprehensive coverage in Central and South America.”
It is PIL’s third service connecting Asia and the West Coast of South America. The new service will call - Ningbo – Shanghai – Qingdao – Pusan – Manzanillo – Lazaro Cardenas – Puerto Quetzal – Buenaventura – Valparaiso – Ningbo.
