The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that two key points have been settled in negotiations with Oman regarding a temporary Hormuz transit corridor, according to a report by The Maritime Executive. The IRGC spokesman, Hossein Mohebbi, stated that the two sides have reached agreement on the division of the strait's waters and the sharing of its revenues. The revenue-sharing aspect pertains to a transit fee system that the IRGC intends to implement permanently for vessels entering and leaving the Arabian Gulf, potentially generating billions of dollars annually to support Iran's military and civilian projects. Mohebbi told the state news agency Sepah that the United States is obstructing this process. He has previously indicated that an open, uncontested shipping lane would only be established if the U.S. accepts Iran's conditions.
