        日本石油资源开发株式会社（JAPEX）近日披露了其在北海道日高（Hidaka）近海区域开展的勘探钻井作业情况。

        日本石油资源开发株式会社于2026年6月10日完成了北海道日高近海区域的勘探钻井作业。该项目自2026年3月24日启动，旨在确认当地是否存在天然气资源。本次钻井作业使用的钻井平台为Valaris 8504。

        本次作业依托 2019 年该区域勘探钻井成果开展，钻井位置位于此前钻探地点西北方向约5公里处，距离海岸约50公里，作业海域水深约1,070米。

        在渔业相关行业、地方政府等当地社会群体的理解与配合下，日本石油资源开发株式会社将勘探钻井深度推进至1,900米。

        日本石油资源开发株式会社表示：“我们对钻井过程中发现天然气迹象的储层进行了测试，证实该储层局部存在天然气，并获取了相关地质数据。”

        此次勘探钻井项目被日本经济产业省自然资源与能源厅选定，纳入“2024 财年国内石油天然气地质调查补贴”资助项目。

        但是，日本石油资源开发株式会社指出，目前确认的天然气储量尚未达到即时商业化开采的标准。尽管如此，日本石油资源开发株式会社将继续对本次勘探获取的数据进行分析评估，研究该区域未来开展油气勘探与开发项目的可能性。

Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd. (JAPEX) has shed light on its exploratory drilling activities in the offshore Hidaka area of Hokkaido.

 

JAPEX completed the exploratory drilling in the offshore Hidaka area of Hokkaido on June 10, 2026. The firm had been conducting the activity to confirm the presence of natural gas since March 24, 2026. The rig that undertook the drilling work has been identified as Valaris 8504.

The operation was conducted based on the results of the exploratory drilling operations carried out in the area in 2019, approximately 5 kilometers northwest of the location already drilled around 50 kilometers offshore in the same area, at a water depth of 1,070 meters.

The Japanese player conducted exploratory drilling to a water depth of 1,900 meters, with understanding and cooperation from the local community, including the fishing industry and local government.

“We tested the reservoir where indications of natural gas were recognized during the drilling and confirmed the presence of natural gas in part of the reservoir and acquired geological data,” emphasized JAPEX.

The exploratory drilling was selected by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as a subsidized project under the ‘Subsidy for Geological Survey for Domestic Oil and Natural Gas in FY2024.’

According to the Japanese firm, the confirmed natural gas volume does not meet the criteria for “immediate commercialization.” However, JAPEX will analyze and evaluate the obtained data to consider the possibility of an exploration and development opportunity in the area.
