Shandong ports deepening co-operation with Vale

Shandong Port Group and Vale have signed a MoU for co-operation on iron ore loading and unloading, storage and transshipment.

Qingdao port, Rizhao port and Yantai port, under the arm of Shandong Port Group, will co-operate with Vale for iron ore transshipment-related business, and jointly seek potential co-operation opportunities in new projects to provide better services to Chinese iron and steel industry players. 
"Shandong Port Group is one of Vale’s strategic partners in China. The signing of the MoU with Shandong Port Group will strengthen our ability to continuously provide high-quality iron ore products and improve services to customers in and around Shandong province," said Xie Xue, president of Vale China.

The ports in Shandong have been working with Vale for many years. In 2015, the world's largest 400,000 tonne-class Valemax berthed at Dongjiakou port area of Qingdao port, the first berth of this type of ship at Chinese port.
