       德国迈尔船厂（Meyer Werft）表示，“Spirit of Adventure”号是为Saga Cruises公司建造的第二艘邮轮，于周二在埃姆登（Emden）交付给了这家英国邮轮公司。

Meyer Werft Delivers Saga Cruises' Spirit of Adventure

 

Spirit of Adventure, the second new cruise ship built by Meyer Werft for Saga Cruises, was delivered to the British cruise line Tuesday in Emden, the German shipbuilder announced.

 

The delayed delivery of the 58,250 GT luxury liner comes after setbacks at the Papenburg shipyard caused by COVID-19.

 

"Despite all the adversities in the last few months caused by the [coronavirus] pandemic, we were able to complete both the construction in Papenburg and the testing and commissioning of the ship within a manageable time frame," said Thomas Weigend, managing director of Meyer Werft.

 

The DNV GL classed Spirit of Adventure is Saga Cruises' second purpose-built cruise ship. According to the builder, the 236-meter Spirit of Adventure is characterized by an environmentally friendly and resource-saving design. Like her sister ship, Spirit of Discovery delivered in 2019, an eSiPod drive from Siemens is used.

 

Designed for passengers over 50, the ship features a theater, library, golf simulator, and small pool areas, as well as various bars and restaurants, a gym, and spa area.  It has 15 decks and 554 cabins—all with balconies—for 999 passengers.
