        海上钻井平台所有者马士基钻井公司（ Maersk Drilling ）和Petrogas石油公司就行使原本商定的独家选择权达成共识，即雇用适于恶劣环境的自升式钻井平台“Maersk Resilient”为北海英国区“Birgitta”油田中一口评价井进行钻探作业。 

 

        马士基钻井公司周三表示，该合同预计于2021年底生效，直接延续该钻井平台目前的工作范围。据估计，其使用期限为60天，价值约为540万美元。

 

        马士基钻井公司北海分部主管Claus Bachmann说到：“我们非常高兴得到这个机会重新启动‘Birgitta’项目，由于全球疫情和行业经历的极具挑战性市场状况，去年暂时停止了这个项目。同时，这也是我们与Petrogas石油公司合作关系牢固的另一个证明。”

 

        需要注意的是，Petrogas石油公司早在2019年9月就与马士基签订了钻探“Birgitta”油井的初签合同。但是，该合同于2020年11月取消，而马士基保留了与Petrogas石油公司的独家选择权，即在2021年以反映该年预期市场的价格进行“Birgitta”油井钻探作业。

 

        MSC CJ 50高效自升式钻井平台“Maersk Resilient”规格为350英尺、由Gusto设计，于2008年交付。目前，该钻井平台在北海英国区为NAM作业。

 

        最近，Serica公司还使用该钻井平台钻探了位于英国北海的“Columbus”开发井，就在上周，Serica公司实现了该油田的首次生产。

Maersk rig re-hired for North Sea well

 

Offshore rig owner Maersk Drilling and Petrogas have agreed to exercise the previously agreed exclusive option to employ the harsh-environment jack-up rig Maersk Resilient to drill an appraisal well at the Birgitta field in the UK sector of the North Sea. 

 

As informed by Maersk Drilling on Wednesday, the contract is expected to start in the end-2021, in direct continuation of the rig’s current work scope. It has an estimated duration of 60 days and a value of approximately $5.4 million. 

 

“We’re very pleased to get this opportunity to re-start the Birgitta project which was temporarily halted due to the global pandemic and the challenging market conditions the industry experienced last year. This is another testament to our strong relationship with Petrogas,” says Claus Bachmann, Head of North Sea Division in Maersk Drilling.

 

To remind, Petrogas awarded the initial contract to Maersk to drill the Birgitta well back in September 2019 but the contract was cancelled in November 2020 with Maersk retaining the exclusive option with Petrogas to drill the Birgitta well in 2021 at rates reflecting the expected 2021 market.

 

Maersk Resilient is a 350 ft., Gusto-engineered MSC CJ 50 high-efficiency jack-up rig which was delivered in 2008. It is currently operating in the UK sector of the North Sea for NAM. 

 

The rig was also recently used by Serica to drill the Columbus development well in the UK North Sea and, just last week, Serica achieved the first production from the field.
